November 3 to 11, 2023!
Khao Lak to Hua Hin
What a journey it was! 21 cyclists from many countries in the world supported by three amazing cycling guides, four drivers and a sports massage therapist started this epic 800 km journey from Khao Lak to Hua Hin in support of the beautiful children cared for by The Mercy House Foundation in Hua Hin.
It was again a journey where old friendship were renewed and new ones formed.
It certainly wasn't easy; the daily distances to cover were long and the heat sometimes topping 40 degree Celsius and often strong headwinds didn't make it easier. But all the pain and suffering were forgotten, when the riders arrived at the Mercy House Foundation to the warm welcome by the children and staff.
Special thanks to the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin for their sponsorship and support.
The ride would not have been the same without the amazing team of Ant tours thailand . You guys are the best. You are not just a company CWC works with, you are an integral part of CWC - you are CWC family!
Best of all: Not only did we achieve our donation target of THB 1,000,000 - no, we exceeded it and still counting!
My deepest gratitude to all sponsors!
And to you, my dear fellow riders: CWC only is what it is because of you and your willingness to step out of your comfort zone in support of some underprivileged children. You are indeed extraordinary in every way. Thank you for the trust you have placed in me and CWC!
CWC 2023 was the last CWC ride organised by me as I decided it was time to hand over to a younger generation. From next year onwards the CWC rides will be managed and organised by an amazing young man, who dedicates his life to charity. Daniel Vaupel is the Director of the Tamar Center in Pattaya. He has lived in Thailand for many years and like me, loves the country and its people. A keen cyclist, Daniel has joined CWC rides before and is familiar with the expectations our riders and sponsors have. I could not think of a better person to continue CWC and make it even better and bigger!
Kind regards, GOD Bless and safe cycling, always...
